Sanders, a NPC met at Sanktheim Gate
Sanders is a man working at Sanktheim Gate checkpoint as the cook and manager of the mess hall.
He used to dream of working as a chef in a prestigious restaurant, but he later changed his mind when he reevaluated why he liked his job. Equally as important to him as the job of cooking itself turned out to be the contact with his customers. While most cooks are happy to go about their work in a separate kitchen, Sanders greatly values the ability to watch his customers eat, and enjoy, his cooking and receive direct feedback from them afterwards.
The value he places on feedback occasionally takes a bite out of his finances, however, since he's often willing to cut the bill of any person who shows enjoyment of his meals, which earned Professor Alba a cheap meal while he was there. He also gave Zin a large discount simply out of respect for how much he could eat.
While most people at Sanktheim Gate find their daily lives grow more and more hectic during the martial arts competition, due to military command issuing more and more security orders, it's the exact opposite for Sanders. With all people who wanted to attend the competition already having travelled to the royal city, his mess hall is only used by the soldiers of the garrison and he takes advantage of the brief break in business to take it easy and catch up on the state of his inventory.
According to Talia, Sanders isn't much to look at, but he's considered a reliable man.
