Masayuki Kato (加藤正幸) is the founder and first president of Nihon Falcom. Toshihiro Kondo succeeded him in 2007. At present, Kato serves as the company's chairman.

Masayuki Kato established Nihon Falcom in March, 1981. The name "Falcom" is inspired by the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, with the last 'con' changed to 'com' to reflect the company's mission of developing computer games.
