The Lakeside Laboratory is a hidden Ouroboros facility on the northwest shore of Valleria Lake that served as Georg Weissmann's base of operations in Liberl for the majority of the Gospel Plan.
Trails in the Sky SC[]
Background[]
The laboratory was used as a research facility with a focus on Gospel units, though it also held a pieced apart Reverie and doubled as a production facility for various archaism parts. Weissmann and the Enforcers he convinced to take part of the Gospel Plan used the laboratory as their main base until a bracer team consisting of Kurt, Carna, Grant and Anelace were able to discover and infiltrate the facility.
The bracers were defeated by the Enforcers and captured, save for Kurt who managed to escape and reached the northern Valleria Lakeshore where he was found by Estelle and Kevin. After being healed and his memories restored by Kevin's Thaumaturgy, he revealed the laboratory's existence to them, who started planning another infiltration. Estelle, Kevin and two others would set off to the laboratory while the rest took care of Kurt.
After making their way through the heavy fog, part of the mechanism to keep the location hidden, they reached the laboratory but only met patrol archaisms on entry. Thinking it had already been evacuated, they scour the facility and only met three people: Grant, Carna and Anelace, who had been hypnotized to delay the intruders. Anelace told Estelle that she saw Joshua infiltrating the facility at the same time as them, prompting her team to head to the highest floor, where they found an unconscious Joshua on the floor.
However, it was a set-up using a doppelganger, an archaism made to look and attack like Joshua. Several doppelgangers then ambushed Estelle and her group, and after defeating them, Weissmann revealed himself and locked the bracers in the room, taunting them before filling it with sleeping gas. By the time Kevin and the rest woke up, Estelle was missing, and the group managed to climb to the roof just to see Weissmann and Leonhardt fly away with a sleeping Estelle on an Ouroboros airship. Estelle would later awaken aboard the Glorious, which would become the Anguis' new base of operations.

Treasure Chests[]
Floor | Key | Contents | Chest Quote |
---|---|---|---|
1F | 1 | Buzzer | In the dust, you can faintly make out the imprint of whatever was in here previously. |
2 | Windlass | Monsters: Vogel 235 - Version 1 ×4, Vogel 570 - Version 1 ×2 | |
Did you hear about the girl who paid for everything with black sepith crystals? She said it was only costing her time! | |||
3 | EP Charge II | This chest's proud possessions have already passed to some wandering adventurer's satchel. Probably yours. | |
4 | Defense 4 | The chest's empty, but if you keep opening and closing the lid, it looks like it's talking! | |
5 | Misty Veil | There's nothing in the chest. You briefly wonder if you could use it as a makeshift boat... | |
6 | Earth sepith ×200 | Now that all my contents are gone I feel so lost. What's my purpose? Why am I here? Who am I?! | |
2F | 7 | EP Charge | The chest is empty. And if it could eat you, it would. |
8 | Night Goggles | All of this chest's worldly possessions now reside within your pack. Unless you sold them. You didn't SELL them, did you? | |
9 | Teara Balm | As you search the empty chest's insides, just in case you missed something last time, it gives you a splinter. | |
10 | Ebony Shoes | This chest is as empty as your soul. | |
11 | Star Rabbits | You sneakily crack the lid of the chest and take a peek inside. Sadly, no treasure chest fairies flying around in there. No items, either. | |
12 | Wind sepith ×200 | Watch out! There's been somebody going around looting all my friends, and I think he just got me! | |
13 | Fire sepith ×200 | I've been looted two games now! I won't stand for this much longer! | |
3F | 14 | Naptime Cookie | Sorry, but I'm cutting you off. |
15 | Attack 4 | Monsters: Vogel 235 - Version 1 ×4, Vogel 570 - Version 1 ×2 | |
Somewhere, deep down in the last pulsing remnants of your soul, you know you're a monster. | |||
16 | Tearal Balm | Nothing in here. Good. We don't want people refilling these while we're not looking. | |
17 | Teara Balm | You lift the chest over your head and shake as hard as you can, but nothing comes out. Well, it was an impressive display of strength, at least. | |
18 | Ebony Suit | This chest is as empty as that promise you made. You know which one. | |
19 | Time, Space, Mirage sepith ×200 | I've been looted so many times that I'm thinking of putting in a request to the Bracer Guild to catch the culprits. |

Trails in the Sky the 3rd[]
Background[]
In the Sixth Plane of Phantasma, the second monument active needs Anelace. Through it, her and Kevin reach the Looking Glass, a mirrored version of the Laboratory.
Inside, they fight copies of Grant, Carna and Kurt along with their jaeger selves to obtain access to the terminals. In addition to providing the keycards needed to progress, the mirrored text of the terminals provides a clue to locations where they can find 1000 of each sepith type.
At the roof of the laboratory they find the Second Guardian, Kilika Rouran, at the roof. She fights them with chakrams as master-student of Taito, and after her defeat, the carnelia monument at Erbe Scenic Route is activated.
