Ash's Fosther Mother - Flashback (Sen III)

Ellen with Ash Carbide.

Ellen was working as a hostess in Raquel when information broker Miguel, a frequent at her place, stopped by. Together with him was Johan, a 3-year-old who had fled from the Hamel Tragedy and was found by Miguel near Parm. Since imperials soldiers were apparently looking for the child, he wanted to get rid of him. Miguel begged Ellen to take the child in and gave her some mira. She decided to take him in. Soon thereafter Johan started naming himself Ash.

Unbeknownst to Ash, Ellen kept a secret diary at the back of the bookshelf in her room. When dusting off the shelves in S.1206, Ash found an undated passage in her diary:

Once he got back from peddling, he stopped by at the store again. Seems like he managed to make a good deal this time, said I was doing well on raising the kid, pushed some mira toward me and drank his cheap booze. He somehow looks ashamed he gave me custody over Ash. I want to tell him how grateful I am for all the happiness Ash has given me. Even if I tell him to look at his face every now and then, he refuses, telling me it won't do him any good. Really, the guy's a real pain.

Ellen passed away from a tumour. in S.1200.
